Pixar's UP: the 1960s "Premake"

"Premake" is a term coined by a clever youtuber named whoiseyevean. He takes vintage footage, edits it together with some special effects, and...voila! A trailer for a classic, earlier version of said movie that is so amazing, people often think it's real.

I didn't think he'd ever outdo his great Ghostbusters premake, but here he's done one I never even imagined being premaked, Pixar's Up.

As with most of his premakes, he's also made an entertaining, annotated guide to how he made it.

Yes, the house is a little fake (though that's necessarily in inaccurate for a 1965 Disney movie), and at 33 seconds in, it is on a considerably smaller scale than the buildings it passes over.

Also, Spencer Tracy says "Hell" and "poop." I don't think Disney allowed words like that until the '80s.

Fun stuff. I'll agree with Bill. Still, the get-a-life-too-much-time-on-my-hands crew strikes again. We have so much power today in our computers. Also access to so much electronic media.

It is only limited only by our minds, and our fear of lawsuits!

Too much time on his hands? I disagree. The guy makes commercials, so he's just using the talent and passion that gave him his career.

As for a lawsuit, I think Disney is smart enough to pick its battles. They're not losing a dime from the scattered old footage he borrows (and gives credit for), and suing him would be a nice way to piss off Disney and Up fans, who this clip was clearly made for.
